JEHAN - passionate artist, composer, singer, writer, choreographer. An internationally acclaimed performer with deep roots in Middle Eastern dance and culture who was later to become a leading pioneer fusionista, evolving the art in new directions with innovative vocabulary and the introduction of new variations, the wisdom of the sacred geometry, props, choreographic concepts, fantasy and myth. Creator of numerous large scale productions including several Off-Broadway shows: Goddessdance – a history of sacred dance and female spirituality and Cirque Arabesque - a caravan of dreams, seamlessly weaving 1001 nights with circus artistry. Inspired by visions of ancient temple dancers she resurrected ancient philosophies that have since become the norm worldwide. TEMPLE OF JEHAN, NYC’s most all-encompassing school of bellydance, teaching all styles with permanent locations at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center and Bellydance America Studios. Jehan has been a master instructor at prestigious festivals in Egypt, Europe, South America and the Far East. She has performed from the great concert halls of the west to the temples of Asia. Jehan also wrote and produced over 20 CDs of music ranging from traditional Middle Eastern to Arabesque world fusion, performance and instructional DVDs and fantasy art films.
